Kevin Hart’s tequila brand is offering $10,000 grants to support underrepresented entrepreneurs

Author: Jaelyn Campbell

Gran Coramino Tequila, a tequila brand created by actor and entrepreneur Kevin Hart and 11th-generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann, began accepting applications for its giveback initiative, The Coramino Fund.

The initiative provides learning opportunities and $10,000 grants to Black and Latinx entrepreneurs nationwide, with its partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).

For each bottle sold, Gran Coramino Tequila donates $1 to support small business owners and entrepreneurs of color in the U.S. and Mexico. Applications for qualifying American companies can be found at lisc.org/grancoramino and will close on December 5, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. The next phase of the entrepreneurship initiative in Jalisco, Mexico, will begin in early 2024.

Over 20,000 applications were submitted by The Coramino Fund in its first year of operation, and 50 entrepreneurs were awarded $10,000 grants to help their small enterprises expand.

LISC is one of the biggest community development organizations in the nation, and they work to create thriving, resilient communities all over the United States. To promote racial equity and reduce systemic inequities in opportunity, wealth, and health, LISC collaborates with locals and partners to support the well-being of people and communities.

Moreover, Redemption Body Wellness’s owner and founder, Martin Boyd Jr., stated, “As a business owner, I find it most difficult to hire new employees while simultaneously growing community initiatives, particularly for the elderly and young. This funding allows me to accomplish just that.”

Co-founder of Gran Coramino Tequila, Kevin Hart, stated, “The Coramino Fund is about building a legacy of economic empowerment and generational success—it’s not just about grants. It was encouraging to observe the positive effects our first year of working with LISC had on Black and Latinx small business owners. With this fresh round of support, we continue to assist in removing obstacles that have prevented gifted entrepreneurs from realizing their aspirations.”
