Fiserv and ADP partner to streamline payroll and cash management for small businesses

Author: ASBN Newsroom

Fiserv and ADP have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an integrated management system tailored for U.S.-based small businesses.

This new collaboration combines payroll, cash management, and payment capabilities, promising to simplify operations for entrepreneurs nationwide.

In addition, the initiative will integrate ADP’s small business payroll and HR platform, RUN Powered by ADP, with Fiserv’s management solution, Clover, to create a seamless solution for small business owners. Moreover, Fiserv’s CashFlow Central, a platform for managing accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR), will also be accessible to RUN and Clover clients. The rollout of these integrated services is expected to begin in early 2025.

“The addition of ADP’s payroll services technically integrated into Clover will make it easier than ever for small businesses to manage the flow of money in and out of their business, whether they are selling to customers, paying bills, or managing payroll,” said Frank Bisignano, chairman, president, and CEO of Fiserv.

ADP President and CEO Maria Black emphasized the impact on community-driven businesses, stating, “The powerful combination of two trusted industry leaders advances our ability to serve the millions of small businesses that drive the U.S. economy.”

This partnership addresses a growing need among small businesses to broaden the types of payments they accept. According to the PYMNTS Intelligence report on small businesses, those that received a wider range of payment methods — an average of 6.4 types — reported stronger growth in 2023 compared to businesses that offered fewer options.

Fiserv and ADP’s collaboration builds on a year of innovation for both companies. Fiserv recently launched a suite of tools for small businesses through Clover, catering to restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses. Meanwhile, ADP introduced ADP Assist, a generative AI-powered solution designed to improve workforce management guidance, in partnership with AWS earlier this year.

By uniting their expertise, Fiserv and ADP aim to empower small businesses with cutting-edge tools, simplify operations, and enable sustainable growth.
